The Police Command in Kogi State has warned members of the public,in the state against taking law into their hands.
The Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, for the Command,SP.William Ovie Aya, gave the warning in a statement he sent to The Reporters in Lokoja on Tuesday.
He said the Command had received a case of alleged disappearance of sexual organ in Lokoja,adding that the police are on the course to get to the root of the matter.
He said:” We received report, the Police are on the situations.The Police caution the public not to take law into their hands. Once there is such allegations,it should be reported to the Police to enable the Police conduct investigation into the allegation.
” Anybody that takes law into his or her hand, if arrested, will be prosecuted according to the law.
Our correspondent that rumour has gained ground in Lokoja and its environments in the last on week to the effect that people who specialize in dispossessing unsuspecting individuals of their sexual organs have commenced operation in Lokoja.
Sources said these criminals often extend their hands for a hand shake to their unsuspecting,reciting some words
In that circumstance, the victims will experience eerie of disappearance of such.
Members of the public are therefore, advised to be careful, especially of people they shake hands with.
