2-day NLC warning strike throws Kogi into total darkness.

The two-day warning strike embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC over the current economic hardship in the country went on well in Lokoja,north central Nigeria and its environs on Tuesday, the Reporters reports.
Our correspondent who was at the state secretariat reports the labour officials were seen chasing out work for them to join the strike.
As a result, power supply to residents of Kogi state was shutdown in the early hours of Tuesday.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja, the Vice Chairman of NLC in Kogi, Comrade Eleojo Opaluwa, expressed his satisfaction with the level of compliance by the workers in the state.
Opaluwa, who is a member of National Union of Electricity Employees of Nigeria (NUEE) in Kogi, said the supply of electricity had been shut down in the whole of Kogi State.
“We are happy that the two-day national warning strike witnessed a total compliance in Lokoja, and the entire 21 local government areas of Kogi State,”he said.
The state has 21 local government areas.z
Some residents of Gadumo new layout,who spoke with our correspondent on the issue, regretted that they would have to copy with the world of darkness for 48 hours,adding that they could not buy fuel to activate their general for alternative electricity.
The Reporters reports that a litre of fuel is sold at N617 in Nigeria.
