Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, the Vice-Chancellor, Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun, says the institution has zero tolerance for gross misconduct among students.
Ojediran made this known while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun.
The vice-chancellor identified physical assault to include sexual abuse, drug abuse, cultism, among others as serious offences to the management of the institution.
Ojediran said that such offences, attracted automatic dismissal from the school, adding that such punishment was meant to serve as deterrent to other students.
” Any of our students that the institution discovered that he or she possessed low morale, such students will be dismissed from the school,” he said.
This, he said, was part of the measures put in place by the management of the university to ensure discipline and instill morality into the students as well as reduce decadence in the country.
The vice-chancellor appealed to parents to create time to monitor their children at home and also found out what they are doing in the school.
“The parents these days are not as hard as the parents in those days and this is contributing to moral decadence in the country.(NAN).
