The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has commiserated with the Kogi State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), over the shocking demise of one of her respected members, Mr. Sam Egwu.

Dr. Usman, in a condolence message issued by the Head, Public Relations and Protocol Unit of the Polytechnic, Uredo Omale, described Late Sam Egwu as an astute investigative journalist, a great man of inestimable quality, a visionary and innovative writer who had touched the lives of many positively.

Dr. Usman urged the Kogi State Council of the NUJ and the immediate family of Late Sam Egwu to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived a life of honesty, sincerity, integrity, devotion and selfless service to his profession and humanity, adding these would make him live in the hearts of many forever.

“Late Mr. Sam Egwu brought a lot of grace, style, and diligence, and set a good example for many to follow, encouraging the growth of journalism in Kogi State and Nigeria at large” he stressed.

“While I condole with members of his immediate family, and the Kogi State Council of NUJ over his demise, I want you to be rest assured that you are not alone in this trying time, as we all truly miss him,” the statement added.

He prayed God to grant the soul of late veteran journalists eternal rest.
