Fire has occurred at Lagos street

A Saturday fire incident has razed many shops in Benin city, capital of Edo State and destroyed other value property worth millions of naira.

Our Correspondent in Benin, said that the fire which occured in the morning, affected a building housing shops on Lagos street, Benin city.

Owners of the affected shops were seen trying to get their remaining belongings out of the building.

Men of the fire service were also sighted in a spirited effort to put out the fire which kept escalating.

Although the cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at the time of this report, the inferno is second, coming a month after a building,still on the Lagos street, was also razed.
