Ex-Deputy Governor’s Wife Uplifts Orphanage Home in kogi

Mrs Tokunbo Awoniyi, Wife of former Kogi State Deputy Governor,Arc.Yomi Awoniyi, has extended gesture to the Margret Ohiani Orphanage home located at Zariagi, near Lokoja, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Our Correspondent gathered that the gesture represents Tokunbo’s tradition of touching lives of orphans and vulnerable in the society,

The uplift include; renovation of the entire building,such as painting of the entire complex, changing of the Mosquito and bed sheets, Nets, doors, thus making the structure to wear a new with a view to making sure that the children in the orphanage are comfortable.

Mrs Idowu Abu, who was on hand to ensure that the renovation work was done to specifications, said the gesture was Awoniyi’s usual gift to the children during the yuletide, described the 2022 intervention as unprecedented.

She added that it was Awoniyi’s passion, over the years,to ensure that the children at the home live comfortable life, assuring that this year gesture would not stop former deputy governor’s yearly donation of foodstuffs, clothing and other support to the home for the Christmas.

Responding,the Manager of the Home,Mrs Margret Ejembi, described Awoniyi’s support as “unprecedented”, adding it came at a better time, when the mattresses, beddings, windows and nets in the home had wornout.

She thanked the wife of the former Deputy Governor for her decade of touching the lives of children at the home, “particularly in a time when everyone is not finding life with ease.”
