Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has assured the people of Awe Local government area of the state that he would try his best possible to ensure an out of court settlement of the lingering tussle on the outcome of the primary election results of the APC of Awe/Tunga constituency between a veteran Journalist Alhaji Hudu A Hudu and the current Majority Leader Hon. Tanko Tunga.
Addressing the large crowd of party supporters in Awe town Monday, during a campaign rally,governor Sule said the legal tussle on the outcome of the primary election as it affects the the Awe/Tunga constituency is a great source of worry to the party and promised to dialogue with the two parties in order to find lasting solution to the quagmire.
He said in a situation where dialogue failed, they would have no other option than to allow the law to takes its course.
“Alhaji Hudu A. Hudu,is my junior brother while Alhaji Tanko Tunga is my friend. I cannot be seen to love one and reject the other”,he said.
He said while the case lingers on in the Court of law, non of the two aspirants would be given the party’s flag until the case is dispense off.
The governor reminded the people of Awe that they had benefited alot from his administration, stressing that they had one of the largest sugar companies in West Africa,sited in their area in addition to having two commissioners representing them in the state Executive Council.
He promised to do more for them, if they vote for him and all other APC candidates in next year’s general elections.
In his speech at the occasion, APC Chairman in the state, Mr. John Mamman, told the party supporters that, giving governor Sule second term would further promote the peaceful co-existence being experienced in the state.
He said the people of Awe had every reason to re vote governor Sule, even for the fact that the multi million naira Dangote Suger company is sited in their area.
Also speaking at the occasion, Senator Tanko Al Makura, explained that next year’s election would be quiet different from past once adding that the era of ballot stuffing had gone.
He said those that were used to rigging election to come to power illegally would no longer have their way.
