Kogi State House of Assembly is set to investigate the alleged fraudulent land dealing and encroachment by one Godwin Isah at Apamisede in Adavi Local Government Area of the state.

Our Correspondent reports that ths was after one Mrs Sefi Okpekete Bajeh addressed a petition to the Speaker of the House and same was read by Hon Cosmas Atabor on the floor of the House.

According to, Sefi, on July,4 2016, she purchased a land measuring 100f x100f6 situated at Apamisede village behind LGEA Primary School in Adavi Local Governnent Area, LGA of Kogi State from Godwin Isah.

The petitioner added that a Deed of Assignment was executed between the duo after the payment of N900,000 ( nine hundred thousand naira).

Bajeh further disclosed that she had developed the land by fencing it which showed that it was her property, yet Godwin Isah, through a text message he sent to her, said he had revoked the land.

The petitioner further told the House that the same Godwin Isah went and demolished part of the petitioner’s fence, erected a structure on the land and started to threaten her.

Bajeh, therefore, prayed the House to intervene in the matter by calling the said Godwin Isah to order and invite him to explain why he encroached on the said land.

She also wants the House to order Godwin Isah to rebuild the demolished fence or be made to pay compensation for same.

Bajeh also prayed the House to stop Godwin Isah or his cronies from trespassing on the land and threatening her and pleaded with the House to help put machinery in motion to help recover her land.

After listening to the petition, the Speaker, Mr Mathew Kolawole, directed the joint committee on judiciary, justice and protocol to investigate it.
