Horror! Father sets 5 children ablaze over misunderstanding with wife

Ondo.

Police in Ondo State have arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly setting ablaze five of his stepchildren.

Ojo Joseph, 54, allegedly committed the henious crime at Fagin area of Ondo town, sequel to a misunderstanding between with him and his wife, according to sources.
The accused was said to poured patrol into the room where the children were sleeping and set them on fire.

“One of them was burnt to death but the wife escaped with four other children with minor injuries.

Our Correspondent gathered that the remaining four victims are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owo.

Funmi Odunlami, the spokesperson for the Ondo police command, confirmed the incident via a phone chat, when contacted.

Odunlami said that the man was currently in custody for alleged “arson and murder.”

“But an investigation is still ongoing on the case and thereafter, we would charge the suspect to court,” she added.
