The National Chairman, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, has sworn he would not attempt to meet with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state in light of the ongoing conflict stifling the party.

Ayu made the vow when he declined the elders of the Jemgbah PDP’s suggestion that they meet with Ortom to negotiate a peace.

The Jemgbah geo-political bloc also includes the PDP chairman.

Ayu declined the invitation to meet with Ortom, stating he had no issues with the Governor, when he spoke to Jemgbah PDP elders at Gboko on Saturday.

“I have no issues with the Governor, so I won’t see him, he declared. I won’t even approach a monarch to reach a resolution. No necessity exists,”Ayu stated.

According to Vanguard, the PDP presidential candidate Abubakar Atiku was not to be singled out because of a few wrong actions by certain herdsmen, the National Chairman also counseled his family.

He, however, urged PDP supporters to cast ballots for all PDP members running for office, including Governor Samuel Ortom.

Former Speaker pro tempore Hon. Terngu responded on behalf of Jemgbah elders, thanking Ayu for meeting with them and assuring him of their support in developing positive working relationships with the Governor. PDP crisis: Mimiko rejects job offer as Ortom criticizes Atiku.

According to the rumor, Ortom had previously informed Ayu’s kin (Jemgba) of their party differences.
