Victim of double tragedy in kogi dies

Amina Musa,the 28-year-old house wife in Lokoja, who suffered double tragedy; flood and gas explosion in Lokoja in the ravaging flood in kogi State, is dead.

A reliable source close to the family of the deceased disclosed this to the Correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Tuesday.

Our Correspondent gathered that Amina,who suffered burns all over her body, died on Saturday at a private hospital where doctors battled to safe her life,all to no avail

Our Correspondent recalls that the late Amina,her husband and two of their children were involved in a gas explosion on September 28,2022 in Adankolo in Lokoja where they secured temporary accommodation, courtesy of a kind hearted neighbour, having been sacked from their house by flood.

Sources said that the second tragedy struck when the late Amina was lighting charcoal to cook for her children.

Unknown to her that there was a leaking gas cylinder near her,she lit the charcoal, the gas attracted the light, set the house in flame while Amina, her husband and their children sustained burns of varied degrees.

While the three other victims are responding to treatment, Anima’s health was said to have become complicated, with burns all over her body, requiring enormous financial resources anointing to N 2.5 million of medical bill.

Alhaji Abubakar Umar, the father of the deceased,earlier in an interview with our Correspondent, solicited financial assistance from public spirited, individuals and public institutions to enable him raise the money.

Meanwhile,our Correspondent who monitored the movement of flood in Gadumo new layout in Ajaokuta Local Governnent Area of the state reports that the natural disaster showed sign of receding on Tuesday.

Some buildings completely submerged by the flood when it started about two weeks ago displayed their zincs down ward.
