The Commissioner of Police in Kogi,CP Edward Egbuka, has commenced investigation to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the inferno that gutted the entire chambers and gallery of the Kogi State House Assembly on Monday.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state,SP William Ovye Aya, in a statement he sent to The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday, said that the investigation would be done in synergy with the Fire Service,

Aya said consequent upon the fire outbreak that razed down the Gallery and Chambers at the state Assembly, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command led a team of tactical operatives on the spot assessment and ordered for a thorough investigation into the incident.

The investigation team, the PPRO said is led by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

The CP also deployed tactical teams to cordon-off the complex for preservation and to ensure adequate security,” Aya said.
