President Muhammadu Buhari,on Monday, sworn in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, a justice of the supreme court, as the acting chief justice of Nigeria (CJN).
Our correspondent reports that Buhari administered the oath of office on Justice Ariwoola at the council chamber of the presidential villa in Abuja.
The acting CJN takes over from Tanko Muhammad, who resigned earlier on Monday.
According to wikipedia,Justice Ariwoola, born on 22 August,1958 is a Nigerian jurist and Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He was formerly a Justice of the Nigerian court of appeal and on November 22, 2011, was appointed to the bench of the supreme court of Nigeria as Justice.
He was appointed and awaiting the National Assembly’s approval as substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria on the 27th June 2022,following the resignation of incumbent Chief Justice Tanko Muhammad.
