The people of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have embarked on fasting and prayer, for God’s intervention, to put an end to insecurity in the area.

The Reporters gathered on Friday that, the two religious exercises were at the instance of the traditional ruler of the town, the Obaro of Kabba,Oba Solomon Dele-Owoniyi and declared by the Chairman of the council,Mr Moses Olorunleke.

Declaring the fasting,Olorunleke expressed concern that the security situation in Kabba became worrisome, following the two explosions that rocked the town within two weeks and the need to checkmate security breaches in the area.

The council boss, who appealed to muslim and christian communities in the area to also pray for the restoration of peace to area, recalled that Kabba was once noted for peace.

Besides directing residents to fast and pray, the chairman,on May 30,2023,also ordered operators of beer parlours in Kabba to close 7 p.m daily.

He also directed commercial motorcyclists, popularly called Okada, to stop operation as from 10.p.m, adding that the directive remained indefinite, as parts of efforts of the council to arrest the problem.

Our Correspondent recalls that in the first explosion that rocked Kabba, two persons lost their lives while 16 were injured while one person died and 11 others sustained various degrees of injury in the second incident..
Both incidents happened in beer parlour.
