The Police Command in Kogi State has promised to rescue the Catholic Church Priest,Rev.Fr.Christopher Onotu, abducted by gunmen on Saturday evening in Obangede,Okehi Local Governnent Area of kogi State.
The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), SP Williams Ayah, who gave promise in Lokoja,while confirming the story in a telephone interview with the Correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka,had deployed high power intelligent team to area to track the abductors and rescue the Priest unhurt.
The gunmen were said to have stormed the residence of the priest in Obangede at about 9 p.m, abducted him and went away with his car.
Our Correspondent recalls that Alhaji Isa Ozi Salami, a board member, Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission(HYPPADEC),kidnapped two weeks ago, is yet to regain his freedom and reunited with his family.
The Reporters gathered that Ozi Salami was kidnapped at about 5 a.m, on his way to mosque in Ogaminana and his abductors were yet to make contacts with his family.
