A member of HYPPADEC Governing council, representing Kogi State,Alhaji Isa Ozi Salami,was on Thursday abducted by men suspected to be Kidnappers in kogi state.
Our correspondent gathered that one Iliyasu Okaraga,a member of vigilante group, who alerted the public while Oz-Salami was being Kidnappers, was shot and later died in one of the hospitals in the area.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state,SP William Aya, disclosed this to the Correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Thursday in a telephone interview.
He said that information at the disposal of the command revealed that Ozi Salami was Kidnapped around 5 a.m in Urucheba in Adavi Local Governnent Area of the state on his way from mosque after early morning prayer
According to him, the police has launched a man hunt for the Kidnappers as well as intensifying efforts to rescue the 73-year-ols Ozi Salami unhurt.
