Hon.Belessing Aishat Ekele
The Kogi State Women leader of Governor Yahaya Bello presidential campaign organisation, Hon.Belessing Aishat Ekele, has described Bello as the only key that would ensure paradigm shift of power from older group to younger generation.
Hon. Ekele, who is the Vice chairman, Olamoboro Local Government Area of kogi state, stated this when she interacted with Journalists in Lokoja on Thursday.
She,therefore, called on the state delegates and eligible voters among women folks, in particular and youth members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Nigeria, to cast their votes for Bello during the May 28 and May 29 National Delegates Convention of the party.
Ekele,a governorship Aspirant of the party in the last gubernatorial election in kogi, described the planned convention as a window of opportunity for the delegates to their love and cast their votes for Governor Bello.
She commended Bello for appointing her as the state women leader of his presidential campaign organisation, assuring all party members that she would strive hard to complement the efforts of the governor and his team, from women angle, “on this historical journey to Aso Rock”.
Ekele, who is also the Magajia 1 of Uke kingdom, thanked Governor Bello for deeming her worthy to be appointed to man such a sensitive position, and called on the women folks and youths to work assiduously for the governor to pick the party ticket and succeed president Muhammadu Buhari next year.
Hon.Ekele reminded the youth and women in the state, in particular, not to forget in a jiffy the recognition Governor Bello’s administration had placed on them in his administration.
“Governor Yahaya Bello has placed a high premium on women and youths in his administration by including them in act of governance. Something considered as a taboo in the past.
“Many youths and women were appointed into position of trust and they are doing well. Before now, such character of inclusiveness in act of governance was not reflected. “It’s a rare case of recognition that must be reciprocated.
“We should not take this gesture for granted. We should reciprocate this by reaching out to other youths and women in other states to give him support in order to realise his ambition of becoming president of Federal Republic of Nigeria via this month of APC primary election.
“We should not rest on our oars until Governor Bello gets to Aso Rock for him to replicate his love for women and youths in Nigeria as his administration has done in kogi,” she urged.
Hon. Ekele also commented Chief Edward Onoja, the Deputy governor of the state, Pharm. Jamiu Asuku, the Chief of Staff to the governor and many others whom she described as the driving force behind the actualisation of Governor Bello’s presidential bid and prayed God to bless their support and efforts “in this direction”.
She also commended the Director General, Yahaya Bello Presidential campaign organization, Hafsat Abiola Costello, the state coordinator, Hon. Ahmed Muhammed , Deputy speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly and many others in the campaign train.
While the Women leader said she would make women folks proud by the appointment, she enjoined women and youth party members to ensure that all hands must be on deck, either as delegatea or party members, “for Governor Bello to beat the rest aspirants to the rear and clinch the APC ticket”.
“We can do it. It will work, with our collective determination. It’s possible. Let do it for our workaholic leader. He has done his own for us. Let do our own for him”, said advised.
