The Kogi State House of Assembly speaker, Prince Mathew Kolawole, has expressed worry over the deplorable nature of Usman Katsina road, otherwise known as zone 8 road in Lokoja, the state capital.
He stated this on Friday in lokoja when he appeared in the ongoing media Parley, organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Kogi State Council.
Kolawole, who is warming for election into House of Representatives from Kabba/Ijumu Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) next year, said that “the road is always in the yearly budget of the state government”.
He, however, assured that it would be rehabilitated before the tenure of the present administration in the state.
” I have discussed the issue with the Governor and we are assured that it will be done and will remain one of the legacy projects before the end of his tenure,” he said.
Our Correspondent reports that the road in question leads to the State House of Assembly Complex, the State High Court, Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), among other state and federal government establishments, coupled with many residential houses.
