Gangster clash claims 2 in Kwara —Police

As two suspected ritualists cool off in police custody in Kwara state for allegedly being in possession of fresh human head and hands, a bloody clash between some suspected gangsters from Isale Offa and Ojale areas Offa also in the state, claimed two lives on Sunday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to Journalists in Ilorin on Sunday.

The police image maker gave the names of the two victims as Samad Adeyemi ( 21) of Isale Offa and Abdulahi Mohammed ( 20) of Ojale, adding however that the command had restored peace and order in the area, adding that the two victims were shot dead before arrival of policemen to the scene of the clash.

“Kwara State Police Command wishes to allay the fears of members of the public, especially the people of Offa and its environs, that peace has been totally restored in the ancient city. “Members of the public are therefore advised to go about their normal, lawful daily endeavours,”the PPRO said.

Ajayi,who disclosed that the gansteric clash occurred in the area at about 1130 hours on Sunday, assured the people of the commitment of Police Command in the state in ensuring peace and security of the people.

He explained that:”Before the arrival of Police men dispatched to the scene, two of the clashing gangsters; Samad Adeyemi ‘m’ aged 21yrs of Isale Offa and one Abdulahi Mohammed ‘m’ aged 20yrs of Ojale have been shot dead.

“The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command, Cp Tuesday Assayomo psc (+) has stationed men from the Command’s Tactical Units, conventional police teams and operatives from the intelligence department to monitor the situation and ensure no further break down of law and order is allowed.

“Members of the public are advised to make information about negative activities within their environment available to the police through the following phone numbers.

He assured the public that “investigation into the matter is however in progress”.
