FIFA Invites Nigerian Deputy Governor To Witness World Cup Draws, Edo Youths excited

Rt. Hon. Phillip Shaibu, Deputy Governor,Edo state.

The Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, has invited the Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Phillip Shaibu, to witness its world cup draws in Qatar.

This invitation has continued to elicit encomiums from youths in and outside Edo State.

The Deputy Governor,in his reaction, described the invitation ‘as a rare privilege.

According to him,consideration of his nomination to be part of the personalities, so honoured to witness the forthcoming global sports exercise, will ultimately place Edo State in the eyes of the world.

Speaking from Doha, Mr. Edo Donald, congratulated Rt. Hon. Shaibu for making the list of personalities invited to witness the event.

“your Excellency, it is a well deserved invitation! ” “Your love for sports and achievements have spoken again.
” I am excited to know that you will be in Doha to witness this great event. We are here to welcome you and make your stay in Qatar a memorable one,” he said.

In his response on how the state can benefit from this exercise,an Edo youth, Francis Okpako, stated that the invitation would be beneficial to the state “as it is going to afford the sports aficionado a great opportunity to learn modern and useful practices in sports that when eventually implemented, will have the capacity to enhance and develop sports in Edo State.”

One of the Senior Special Assistants, Mr Jerome Eramho, confirmed that the State Deputy Governor is expected at the sports exercise which holds at the Doha Exhibition Center, Qatar on Friday, 1st of April, 2022.
