Alhaji Salihu Sule Enehe,Acting Executive Chairman,KGIRS.

Meet Alhaji Salihu Sule Enehe, the Acting Executive Chairman KGIRS, a quintessential tax administrator with a midas touch.

The IGR performance of the service in the last couple of years is a mixed bag of fortunes.

Under the pioneer Chairman, Distinguished Senator Yakubu Oseni, the Service enjoyed a tremendous progress with an average monthly 1.3b IGR. This was a great increase from the paltry 300 million before the coming on board of the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello in 2016.

The man who took over from Senator Oseni in 2018, Mr Aliyu Inda Salami, maintained the tempo of performance and added more, until his removal from office.

The lot fell on Mal. Yusufu Abubakar, who became the Acting Executive Chairman of the service, a position he held until his removal in November last year, because of the dwindling fortunes of the Service under his watch. At his point of removal, the IGR stood at 750 million naira.

Viewed against this background, the search for a competent and capable successor to fix the Service and return it to her exceptionally performing ways began.

It was at this juncture that the choice of Alhaji Salihu Sule Enehe, a seasoned Tax Administrator, and, a chartered accountant who was the Director of Tax audit, and compliance in the Service became manifest.

He is an epitome of excellence who is focused, resourceful, and a team player.

He is the perfect definition of a round peg in a round hole. The newly appointed Acting Executive Chairman hit the ground running immediately, his appointment was announced by mobilising both human and material resources in a bid to change the narrative of the Service.

His efforts paid off instantly as the Service posted a marginal IGR of 1.2 billion in the month of November 2021, 1.5 billion in December 2021, 1.1 billion in January 2022, while that of February stood at 1.3 billion.

It goes without saying that, Alhaji Salihu has proved his mettle in just under 4 months. The writer of this Piece commended the Executive Governor of Kogi State,Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the confidence reposed in him to serve, promising that he will not disappoint in taking the service to greater heights. Indeed, better days are ahead for the service.
