National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS) has given the state government six days ultimatum to address the poor state of education or face mass action.
Addressing journalists on the state of education under the present administration in the state,led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, NANISS President, Comrade Saliha Buhari, said the students of state origin could no longer keep quite over the negative trend in educatuon sector of the state.
Buhari told journalists during a newx conference at the IBB Pen House Minna, that the students want Governor Bello to declare state of emergency on education sector which according to them had been relegated to the background.
Comrade Buhari described as very unfortunate, a situation whereby primary school teachers in the state had been on strike for the past eleven weeks and nothing had been done to arrest the ugly development.
The NANISS president said up to now, the results of the students from the state for 2021 WAEC were still being withheld because the state government had not paid pending balance for previous years, even when their colleagues from other states had cleared theirs.
