The Management of Olika Reporters, Publishers of Truthlive.net says it is retracting a story on alleged looting in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State while also apologising to Mr Joe Okojie, one of the persons accused of being part of the alleged looting.

In a press release signed by the management of the media organisation on Wednesday, the media house said the action was taken ollowing series of investigations and consultations with critical actors in the Secretariat of Esan North East local government council.

“It has been discovered that our publication of September 11, 2021 titled: Exclusive: Genesis of the partitioning, looting of Esan North East, where one Comrade Igberaese granted our correspondent an interview, accusing Mr. Joe Okojie of being part of those involved in the financial improprieties of the council was false and misleading,” the management said.

The UK-based online newspaper, with bias for Nigerian news, said it had earlier removed the story from its website.

It also said that it had tendered apology to the said Mr Okojie for the embarrassment and inconveniences the said publication must have caused him.
