KEDA to implement Result Area 3, COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus project soon–MD/CEO

The Managing/Chief Executive Officer, Kogi State Enterprise Agency(KEDA),Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo Sanni, says the Agency is about to kick-off the implementation of Result Area 3 of Kogi COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus, KG-CARES project.

She made the disclosure the Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industrialists, NASSI paid her a courtesy visit in Lokoja on Thursday.

According to Hajiya Sanni KG-CARES has received the the support of the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, pointing out that “the aim of this project is to support Micro and Small Enterprises, MSEs in the state.”

The MD/CEO added that the three categories involved in the project are: “credit grant, operational grant and IT enhancement grant.”

According to her, KEDA is one of the implementating agencies, adding that b KEDA is Eresponsible for RESULT AREA 3,facilitating Recovery and Enhancing Capabilities of MSEs.

She further told the association that under IT enhancement, KEDA would build an e-commerce platform to boost the visibility of small businesses, even businesses in hard-to-reach areas.

She also noted that the state Government was also about to finalise the training of 10,000 youths in entrepreneurship, while efforts were also in the final stage of creating a world-class mushroom village in the capital city and later to other parts of the state.

Earlier in his speech, the Public Relations Officer,PRO, of the association,Mr Franklin Arome, appreciated the efforts of KEDA in stimulating economic activities in state.

He, therefore,appealed for synergy between the association and KEDA in the collective efforts to develop the state.

Aromr told KEDA boss that the core mandate of the association “is to stimulate small scale industries in the state, adding “if the current developments by the state government is sustained, Kogi State would become a haven for investors.”
