The Police Command in Kwara state has ordered clamp down of perpetrators of thuggery activities at Isale Jagun and Kuntu areas of Adewole in Ilorin, the state on Tuesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command,SP, Ajayi Okasanmi, disclosed this in a statement available to The Reporters on Tuesday.

He said:”Kwara State Police Command received a disturbing information of the unruly behavior of some youths of Adeta , Isale Jagun and Kuntu areas of Adewole today at about 0600hrs.

“The commissioner of police, Kwara State, CP Tuesday Assayomo, on the receipt of the information quickly dispatched a detachment of police men to the area to restore peace and arrest the perpetrators of the near breakdown of law and order in the area.

“Investigation on the matter is ongoing to unravel the remote and immediate cause(s) of the crisis that led to damage to some vehicles parked on the affected streets by the unruly youths. However, some suspects have been arrested and no report of any casualty.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Tuesday Assayomo, has ordered the state CID to take over the case for a discreet investigation.

“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police advised parents/guardians to warn their children to eschew violence and make use of laid down channels to air their grievances if any, rather than taking the laws into their hands,”he added.

Okasanmi further qouted his boss as warning “that anybody arrested in connection with this crisis and any other one for that matter, would be made to face the full wrath of the law.”

The PPRO,who said calm had been restored in the area, advised members of the public are advised to go about their lawful businesses, assuring that police men had been stationed at the affected areas to ensure no further breach to the peace in the areas affected.
