FCT Area Council Polls : People’s Democratic Party Leads in Results Declared by INEC.

From Gwagwalada area council of the FCT, our Correspondent reports that the APC candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, was announced as the winner of the election.

In Bwari, the Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Mr John Gabaya, has been declared winner of the Chairmanship election in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

The Returning Officer for Chairmanship Election in Bwari, Professor Amuche Madu, declared Mr Gabaya who polled 13045 to defeat his closest rival Mr Haruna Shekwolo of All Progressives Congress APC who scored 7697.

Mr Gabaya was then returned elected having met the requirements of the Constitution and the electoral law.

PDP has won 9 out of 11 wards declared so far. AMAC has 12 wards. Only Kabusa is being awaited.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is leading in 9 out of 11 wards collated in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairmanship and Councillorship elections held on Saturday in the FCT Area Council election.

There are 12 wards in AMAC, including Gwagwa, City Centre, Garki, Kabusa, Wuse, Gwarinpa, Jiwa, Gui, Karshi, Orozo, Karu and Nyanya.

However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) won in only Wuse and Karshi wards, leaving the PDP to win the remaining 9 wards, while the result of Kabusa is being awaited.

The Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Christopher Zaka, has been declared winner of the Chairmanship election in the Abuja municipal Area Council of the FCT.

The Returning Officer for Chairmanship Election in the municipal area council, Professor Sani Saka, declared Mr Christopher Zaka who polled 19302 to defeat his closest rival Mr Murtala karshi of All Progressives Congress APC who scored 13340 with a margin lead of 5962.

The PDP also won the Councillorship with about 2494 over close rival of 1124 votes.
