The pioneer principal of Gss Afon in Kwara state, Chief Solomon Aboyeji, has showered praises on the old students of the school for paying back to the school, through various efforts aimed at recovering the lost glory of the school.
He gave the *commendation* when a delegation of the old students,led by Alhaji Abdulazeez Saka, paid him a courtesy visit in his house in Ilorin, to inform him of the plan by the old students to mark the 45th anniversary of their alma mater slated for March 11 12 and 13 in Ilorin and Afon respectfully.
Chief Aboyeji,who expressed gratitude to God almighty for having produced students of *GSS* Afon,who are impacting greatly to human and societal developmnt in various aspects of life in and outside Nigeria, urged them to continue be the light to others in modest to alma maters in the country.
The Pioneer principal, who also gave kudos to the old students for making use of the practical knowledge the school thought them, as leverage for the attachment of higher heights in their chosen career, thanked some of them for their gestures to him.
“I am so happy about what you are doing,in fact it makes me fulfilled.
“I have been following the beautiful things you have been doing and I thank God that I have not lived in vain. I thank God because you are great,”he said.
He expressed the determination not only to grace the occasion but
anchor it.
Chief Aboyeji,who said he visited GSS Afon to see the projects embarked upon by the old students to uplift the school interms of infrastructure, told the delegation that he was delighted at what he saw.

Earlier, Saka,who is among the first set of graduates of the school in 1981, had expressed the avowed determination of the old students of Gss Afon to pay back to the school that laid solid foundation for their present accomplishments in life.
He said the delegation found it very necessary to inform Chief Aboyeji about the forthcoming anniversary, in view of the great role he played in the life of the old students of the school.
The leader of the delegation thanked Chief Aboyeji for the invaluable educatuon,strict disciplinary conduct and exemplary leadership he impacted on the old students, adding that such had provided the formidable platform on which they built on in achieving the desired success in their chosen career.
Our Correspondent reports that the programmes will involve a lecture to be delivered by one of the old students of the school, commissioning of projects carried out by them for their alma mater, football match between the old and present students and dinner night among others.
The Reporters gathered that old students of the school, making waves in various human endeavours,in and outside the shores of Nigeria, are expected to grace the occasion.
Other members of the delegation were: Justice Nureini Kuranga, Dr Shittu Raji, The Chairman, Planning Committee) and Hajia Sidi Hamzat.
Meanwhile, the various committees raised to organize the anniversary, our Correspondent further reports, have been up and doing to ensure the success of the event.
