The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps,( FRSC), Kogi State Command, Mr Solomon Agure, on Friday advised drivers, particularly the commercial- oriented ones in the country to instal speed limit devise in their vehicle to check road accident.
The Frsc boss in the state,who gave the advice while speaking with the Correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja in a telephone interview on Friday, said the accident that happened on Nataco road in Lokoja on Thursday was due to speed and electrical problem.
“I would advise drivers to reduce their speed while on transit, the lone vehicle involved in the accident was on speed, it developed electrical problem and the driver could not stop which could have averted the accident,”he disclosed.
The Sector Commander also stressed the need for drivers to ensure that their vehicles were in proper mechanical fitness to avoid road crashes.
Our Correspondent reports that the accident involved an 18-seater Hiace bus conveying passengers from Lokoja to Zamfara state, got burnt during the accident and left two passengers dead and others with various degrees of injury.
The survivors of the accident were immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja for treatment.
