The anger and anguish caused by the gruesome murder of Baby Hanifa Abubakar,a five 5-year-old pupil of Noble Kids Academy, Kawaji in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State by the proprietor of her school,Abdulmalik Tanko, continued on Monday when Angry youths stormed the school and razed part of it.
Our Correspondent reports that Hanifa Abubakar was said have been abducted in December 2021 by the proprietor who demanded N6 million ransom but later killed her with rat poised and buried her remains in the school premises.
Tanko(38), a father of three children: two girls and a boy, in his confession said after he forced Hanifa to drink the rat poison and satisfied that she was dead, he cut her remains into pieces and buried them in the school.
However, luck ran out of the suspect as he was he was arrested by security forces with his acvomolices while trying to collect the ransom.
Meanwhile, Kano State Governnent has revoked the operational licences of all private schools in the state..
Our Correspondent reports on Monday that the decision followed the alleged killing of Hanifa, by Ababaka Tanko who kidnapped her December 2021 and killed later was arrested why trying to collect the N6 million he demanded for him to release the 5-year-old girl.
Commenting on the Issue while speaking with reporters in Kano, the Commissioner for Education,Sanusi Sa ‘id Kiru, said the revoked licences would, however,be reviewed and revalidated
He said the state government was aware of Hanifa’s gruesome, allegedly by Tanko, adding that in view of the tragic developmnt,the state government has decided to withdraw the certificate of all private schools for revalidation.
He said the Ministry of Education would set criteria for certification of private schools, adding that government has raised a panel has been set up;comprising representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Department of State Service,(DSS) and other security agencies to look into the revalidation of all private schools in the state.
