Borno State government has directed Commissioner for Education to submit requirements for immediate rehabilitation of the burnt down structures Goni Kachallari Government Day Technical College and raised committee to investigate the remote cause of fire incident that razed some parts of the College.
This is contained in a statement by Borno APC New Media, a copy of which was made available to The Reporters on Tuesday
The organization said Governor Babagana Umara zulum gave the directive, shortly after returning from Dikwa and Mafa on a working visit.
The governor,it added,noted that the college was as one of the mega schools recently commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari in Maiduguri, 6th months ago, along Custom Muna Express way.
On his visit to Dikwa and Mafa local governments governor Babagana Umara zulum said his visit was to assess conduct of the ongoing training and verification for primary school teachers.
He promised that the state government would not retrench any teacher but to ascertain those qualified and train not qualified to teach or transfer them to administration departments for them to continue working and earning salaries.
The Governor was also in Dikwa to inspect the ongoing renovation works at military facility recently burnt down.
He added that his wad to give the military a place of abode while carrying out their operations and to discuss with the military on how to put modalities to reopen Dikwa Ngala road, saying the process was on top gear and soon to be reopened.
In Dikwa, the Governor paid a homage to the Shehu of Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar El-kenemi, at his palace where he told the traditional ruler that he had released adequate fund for the electrification of the town and assured him of his administration’s zeal to provide basic needs of the people.
Rsponding, the Shehu appreciated the governor for supporting his domain all the time and prayed for the overall success of his administration.
On his visit to Mafa, the governor said it was to inspect the pilot project on modern irrigation, aimed at producing crops and grasses for both human and animal consumption that will be extended to many community across the state.
“The cultivation of grasses will give room for establishment of cattle range that enables cattle rearing in acceptable modern ways,”he said.
