Check children against knockout display to avoid prosecution, Kogi CP urges parents

With barely a week to Christmas,the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban, has urged all parents to caution their Children and wards, particularly youths and teenagers who engage in the use of fireworks (Knockout), to desist forthwith.

The police boss in the state,who gave the advice in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Police Command in the state,DSP William Aya,in Lokoja on Saturday said the Police was determined to deal decisively with anybody that want to cause disturbance of public peace.

“Anybody caught will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly,Dabban warned.

He also advised all law abiding people in the State to go about their legitimate businesses, admonishing that the Command would not hesitate to apply the full wrath of the law against persons who take the law into their hands.

The Commissioner of Police, therefore, urged members of the public to promptly report any suspicious movement or activities within their neighbourhood to the nearest security agents.
