A clarion call has gone to the Kogi State Government and police to double effort to arrest the activities of Kidnappers and gunmen making life unbearable for people in many parts of the state, especially for the past one week.

The call came from some residents of Lokoja, Tuesday night, in their interview with our Correspondent while expressing concern on the increased Kidnapping and other heinous crimes in the state.

As the police search for the kidnapped Mrs Raji, the mother of the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, Pharm.Abdulkareem Asuku, our correspondent gathered that gunmen on Tuesday evening continued their henious crime by storming Odo Ere and Egbe communities in Yagba West Local Government, Kogi State, armed to the teeth.

Sources said that the gunmen, who came in a Toyota Highlander SUV and three motorcycles, attacked three banks in the area, killing two security men and a lady as well as injured several others.

The Reporters further learnt that the gunmen entered through Egbe and launched attacks simultaneously on the divisional police headquarters and a branch of bank where they killed the security man on duty.

As if the onslaught is not enough, the armed robbers were said to have descended mercilessly on a branch of a first bank in Egbe, the headquarters of the local governnent area.

Finding revealed that the attacked bank has been out of business for more than two years due to incessant robbery attacks.

Eyewitnesses added that after their raw deal in Egbe, the robbers faced neighbouring Odo Ere town where they pumped heavy bullets on the only police station and a branch of another first generation bank, killing the security personnel on guard.

The robbers were said to have indulged in sporadic shooting, after accomplishing their mission before leaving their theatre of operation into thin air but not without gunning down another lady.

The Police Commissioner in the state, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban, who confirmed the robbery attacks, said that he was waiting for details of the incident.
