Kidnapping: Police launch manhunt to rescue Kogi Chief of Staff’s mother

The Police Command in Kogi State and other security outfits have launched manhunt for the safe rescue of Mrs Seriya Raji, the mother of the Chief of Staff, Pharm Abdulkarim Asuku,’the Chief of Staff to the Governor of the state, Yahaha Bello.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state, DSP William Aya, disclosed this to the Correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja while confirming the incident which took place in Adavi Local Governnent Area of the state Monday evening.

The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Idris Dauda Daban had visited the scene of the incident for on the spot assessment, adding that the command had also commenced investigation into the matter with a view to rescuing the victim safe.

The Reporters gathered that Mrs Raji, who resides at the new layout in Nagazi community, Adavi LGA was abducted by about six suspected Kidnappers at about 7:40p.m,after she observed her prayer in a Mosque within her compound.

The suspects were said to have gained entrance into her house through the mosque and whisked her away to a yet- to-be identified destination in the car they came in.

Our Correspondent reports that the incident is coming after similar ones in the recent past where some people, including a first class traditional ruler, were kidnapped and parted with millions of naira as ransom for the victims to regain freedom.
