After 6 Days in Kidnappers’ Den,Abducted Edo DPO Regains Freedom

The Divisional Poluce Officer(DPO), Fugar Divisional Command in Edo State, CSP Ishaq Aliu, has regained freedom, after 6 days in Kidnappers’ Captivity.

The Reporters recalls that CSP Aliu was abducted last week Friday along Agenebode – Auchi old road, on his way to Fugar, his duty post.

The Edo Police Command in the state, which confirmed the release of the DPO, said that no ransome was paid.

The DPO was released by his abductors about 8:00p.m on Thursday around a village called Imiegbha in Etsako West local Government area of the state.

The Fugar community, through its socio cultural group, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, mobilised human and material resources at its disposal, especially the local vigilante Squad which worked in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure his safe rescue and freedom,unhurt.

Our Correspondent reports that CSP Aliu wasn’t tortured but had some wounds as a result of the bush paths he was forced to trek.

Our Correspondent gathered that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction and are currently being interrogated, to determine the level of their involvement in the case.
