2 in court for allegedly harbouring jail break inmate

Enesi Ohinoyi (43) and Ayuba Adeiza (33) on Wednesday, appeared in a Chief Magistrate court sitting in Lokoja for allegedly aiding, abetting and harbouring jail break inmate of Kabba Custodian Centre attack.

The prosecution told the Court that suspects conspired between them to do an illegal act, screening of an offender and convict, Olusegun Onimisi Otaru to escape from Kabba Custodian Centre of Nigerian Correctional Services during the last September attack.

The counsel to the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and other Security agent had on , Olarenwaju Yahaya, through application, urged the court to remand the suspects in connection with their involvement September Attack on Kabba Custodian Centre and for harbouring Olusegun Onimisi Otaru convicted with death sentence and to enable the security operatives complete their investigation.

The counsel explained that the application was in pursuant to sections 291 and 292 of Administration of Criminal Justice of Kogi State.

He said that the convict was not charged to court but returned to Kabba Custodian Centre of Nigeria Correctional Services, having been tried on culpable homicide case and sentenced to death.

The Chief Magistrate, A .A Umar,in his ruling,granted the application and remainded the two suspects in Nigeria Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till 20 October for hearing.
