Security agencies urged to intensify fight against crime as NTA Staff takes final bow

The people of Ezi Agbii in Afikpo LGA of Ebonyi State have buried one of their own, Engr. Onwukwe Chukwu Obiahu, with heavy heart, a development that reinforced the clarion call on security agencies to redouble efforts in reducing crime and criminality tolerable level n the country.

Our Correspondent reports that the advice came as Chukwu (36), a member of staff of the Nigeria Television Authority, (NTA) , who was stoned to death by suspected bandits in Okene, headquarters of Okene Local Governnent Area of kogi state was laid to rest in the area.

Chukwu,who met his gruesome death on September 6,2021,shortly after he closed from work and heading to place of residence,was laid to rest amid tears and long faces on Saturday.

As the bereaved family bemoan the cruelty meted to their brother notwithstanding, feelers from the police indicate that circumstances surrounding the murder of Obiahu remains unclear.

However,DSP William Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Kogi State Command, who confirmed the tragic incident said that information at the disposal of the command revealed that an unidentified corpse was discovered along Okene-Magogo road at about 6.30a.m

He added on getting to the scene of the incident,the Divisional Police Officer,(DPO) in Okene, discovered the remains of a man described as a staff of Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA), booster station,Okene.

According to him, the body examined and found with bruisesd and blood stains all over it.

He said the command had intensified efforts, with a view to bringing culprits to book.
