Nigeria @ 61: We are better united than divide- Kogi Women Commissioner

The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba,has stressed the need for Nigerians to get united for meaningful developmnt as the country marked her 61st on Friday.

The Commissioner stated this in a statement she signed to mark the independence and in facilitation with the Governor of the Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Nigerians in general over the event.

Buba noted that the country in the last 61 years, despite its diversity in religion and ethnicity, has continued to leave as a united entity despite the mirage of challenges bedevilling the nation today.

She thanked the people of the State for their unflinching support to the success story of the state and federal government and urged them to continue to advocate for a stable and prosperous Nigeria.

While felicitating with Kogi Women and Nigeria in general on this memory day, she prayed that “the struggle of our founding fathers towards the actualization of a better Nigeria will not go in vein.”

Buba charged Nigerians to remain prayerful and focus on building a nation for all, irrespective of tribe, religious or political affiliation.

She said:” Nigeria as a nation has many reasons to celebrate, despite the mirage of challenges that is confronting our country today. We thank almighty Allah for Nigeria to come this far.

“Some individuals who do not mean well for the progress of this nation have envisage that our great country will not be united till today, but their plans have been defeated.

” It is very important for every citizen to support and cooperate with the leaders at all levels because in one Nigeria, we stand and move on,”she said.

The Commissioner commended Kogites for supporting this administration.
