Police nab middle-aged man for allegedly killing 9-year old girl in Kwara

A suspected ritualist, Alade James ,on Saturday, for killing a 9-year-old girl, Faith Samuel of Onireke area in Offa Local Governnent Area of the state.

James, a middle age man of Alawe compound Offa,was caught on Saturday in the process of allegedly burying the corpse at Ikotun area of Offa.

The Polic Public Relations Officer PPRO for the Command in the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi,said preliminary investigation in the case showed that the suspect killed the deceased for money ritual, adding that the suspect buried the corpse with a #1,000 note.

Ajayi further disclosed that the remains of the deceased had been recovered and deposited for autopsy at the mortuary after a medical doctor certified the was dead.

” The suspect confessed to the killing for money making ritual. The parents of the deceased have been contacted while the Commissioner of Police Kwara State Command, CP Tuesday Assayomo, has ordered a discreet investigation into the murder.”

In a related development, the police has also rescued a kidnapped victim, Kafayat Jamiu,a 25-year-old lady of Olupo farm settlement, Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.

Accordibg to Ajayi, available information at the disposal of the command indicated the victim was kidnapped while sleeping in her room, by unidentified gun men.

Police Spokesperson said the Commissioner of Police had dispatched Command’s tactical teams, in conjunction with local hunters and vigilantes to go after the suspects by combing bushes for the rescue of the victim and possible arrest of the kidnappers.

According to him, the efforts yielded positive result in early morning of Sunday when the victim was rescued unhurt, adding that the kidnappers escaped with bullet injuries while one locally fabricated assault rifle with four AK 47 live ammunitions were recovered.

Ajayi, who assured that effort to arrest the fleeing suspects was being intensified,advised law abiding people of the state to continue to support the command with useful information that would assist arrest criminals sooner than expected and liberate victims.
