President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Body of Benchers, Nigerian Bar Association and National Judicial Council on the passing of the pioneer President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Moses Bello.
In a statement signed by Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser(Media & Publicity) in Abuja on Wednesday, the President also commiserated with family, friends and professional associates of the legal luminary, whose career,he noted,”lighted the path for many, revealing a deep sense of fairness, balance and love for humanity.”
Buhari,who believed that the legacies of Justice Bello would always be remembered, prayed Almighty God to accept the soul of the deceased b
and comfort his family.
Retired Maj.- Gen. TS Akande who also paid tribute the late Justice, said: “The news of the sudden death of our brother and friend, Justice Moses Bello at the age of 68 came to us as a shock.
“I knew the late Justice through my late brother Rev Father Anthony Ayo Akande as both of them were very close. Since then, we remained family friends.
“For the many years I interacted with him, he carried himself as a very good friend, a kind man, an honest,forthright personality and a very reliable associate.
“Justice Bello was a very brilliant lawyer who worked diligently for the nation and humanity, as the President of the Customary Court of Appeal for 25 years.
“As we mourn his sudden departure with heavy hearts, we are consoled by the fact that in his life time, he served the public with integrity.
“Also, in his private life, he was a father and friend, cultivating good human relations to all. He in the process, positively touched the lives of several people.
“At the end of his sourjourn on earth now, we all know that he fought a good fight, now he has been called home to rest.We cannot question the Lord when He says it is time to go.
“Our hearts and prayers are with his family. May the good Lord grant them the strength to bear the loss. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
