Stop relying on white-job alone for children–Banker tells parents

With employment in public sector of the Nigerian becoming scarcer, parents in the country have been urged not to rely on white collar jobs alone for their children but build entrepreneurship scheme for them to become greater entrepreneurs in the future.

The General Manager FCMB Bank, Ilorin,Mr Abiodun Akinyo, gave the advice at the 14th Graduation Ceremony of His Grace Basic School Ilorin, on Friday in Ilorin.

Akinyo, who spoke on the theme: “Education, The Importance Of Entrepreneurship Schemes For Our Children” stressed the importance of entrepreneurship scheme for the children, given the unemployment rate over the years and enhance the need to impact entrepreneurship schemes in the children in their journey into a new phase of life.

While highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship scheme on the children, he noted that every discipline required creativity in a digital age to develop solution to the societal problems, pointing that they should also be guided on problem solving thinking.

He also stressed the need for better decision making, improved interpersonal relationships, good manager in children to equip them with the skills necessary for self reliance in life.

“As much as the school is doing this in its curriculum, we also need the parents to pay attention to this and let’s focus on how we involve the special talents in these children to become greater entrepreneurs in the future” he said.

The Proprietress of the school, Mrs Toyin Adekonye said that the 112 graduands had performed excellently in their entrance examination into various notable and dedicated the positive development the dedication of teachers and positive attitude of the learners, ‘coupled with the Grace of God. ”

Many graduands in their remarks, expressed delight that they received quality education and sound moral character from the school.
