Suspected kidnappers who abducted a first class traditional ruler in kogi state have demanded N30 million for the royal father to regain freedom.

A source, who is also an indigene of Egayin, disclosed this on Wednesday while in a telephone dialogue with Journalists.

He recalled that the kidnappers called the family of the Adogu by 1 p.m on Wednesday and demanded for ransom of 30 million naira to enable him regain his freedom.

The Source, however, could not say if the family of the traditional were able to raise the amount demanded by the suspects.

Our Correspondent reports that the latest development came barely 24 hours after the Managing Director of Azeco Pharmacy, Okene, Abdulazeez Obajimoh was Kidnapped in the heart of Okene, the headquarters of Okene Area of the state at about 3 p.m.

Sources in Okene said the abduction of Obajimoh resulted in gunshots from the suspects resulting in the killing of one Habeeb Anda and injured two others before the kidnappers escaped to the thin air with their victim, unchallenged.

Feelers from the family of Obajimoh indicates that the alleged Kidnappers have not called on his family to demand for ransom.

Confirming the Kidnapping of the traditional ruler, the Police Public Relation Officer(PPRO) for the Police Command in Kogi State,DSP. William Aya, said the police command had deployed special squad to trail the abductors.

He called on the general public to assist the police with useful information to enable security agencies rescue the royal father.
