The relative respite being enjoyed by motorists and other road users on Ganaja/Gadumo road, Lokoja, Kogi State,under rehabilitation, may soon snowball into lasting easy transportation,if the renewed vigour by contracting firm continues, The Reporters reports.
Our Correspondent who has been monitoring development on the road reports on Tuesday that, bulldozers and catarpillars were seen working on the road, especially at the Gadumo axis, coupled with the wetting of the road.
The online publication recalls that work on the road stopped for almost two months until recently when the Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing Engr Abubakar Ohere, cried to the Federal government to order contractors back on site.
Our Correspondent further reports that while the lull in the rehabilitation of the road pasted, residents of the area, especially those living close to the road said they went through serious inconviences plying the road.
However, from the 200 unit junction to Tobis area, which posed much challenge to motorists in terms of what the drivers described as a galore of terrible potholes, before the return of contractors to the site, has significantly given way to fair drive with relative easy.
Many of the drivers such as Adamu Mohammed,Alex Nwachukwu among others, who spoke with The Reporters on the issue, expressed delight over the return of contractors to the road with a call on them to enhance the tempo of work to return the road to a motorable facility.
