A stakeholder in All Progressives Congress (APC), Ilorin South in kwara state,Alhaja MohammedShadat Lanihun Gambari, has sued for peace in the ongoing crisis rocking the APC in the state.
The politician,who gave the advice while speaking with the Correspondent if The Reporters in Lokoja,from Texas in United States of America, in a telephone interview on Monday.
She also called on the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to assume father-figure in the party and contribute the desired peace and development of the party in the area.
According to her, this is necessary as an elder in the party whose responsibility it is to ensure that normalcy prevails in the running of the party and governance in the state.
Gambari, however, said the once Mohammed had contributed to the election of the governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor should be left alone without much interference in the running of government to the yearning and aspiration of the people of the state.
“No doubt the minister was one of those that struggled for victory of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, but that does not mean that the governor should submit himself to forces whose aims and objectives at variance with the determination of the present administration in the state to better the socio-economic life of the people.
“We expect peace to reign supreme in the party in the state and elders such as the minister have a role to play to ensure the reality of such positive development.
“Why the unnecessary embarrassment among APC stakeholders in the state all because of money,let us stop disgracing ourselves,we do not need to put all these mess story on media,”she said.
The online publication recalls that APC in the state was recently rocked by alleged embezzlement of N70 million funds meant for the 2018 bye-election in the state as well attempt to hijack the structure of the party by some groups, among other party anomalies.
