Relief came the way of motorists, plying Ganaja road, other road users and residents living in the suburb community of Lokoja, the state capital, on Friday, following the return of contractors to continue the rehabilitation of the road.
A correspondent of The Reporters, who visited the road, reports that caterpillars, bulldozers were seen working on the road.
Our Correspondent further reports that the return of the contractors, who abandoned job on the road for about two months, became a reality following a passionate appeal by the Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing Engr Abubakar Ohere for their return to site.
Ohere, who visited the road about a week ago. had sympathised with motorists and residents of Ganaja over the hardship they were experiencing over the stoppage of work on the road.
He expressed the need for the timely completion of the road, therefore, advised the federal government to order contractors to return to site and complete their job on time.
The online news medium recalls that rehabilitation of the road commenced November,2020.
Some motorists and residents interviewed by our Correspondent, expressed hope that timely completion of the rehabilitation would bring an end to the inconviences being experienced driving on the road and a breathing fresh air to residents.
