The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested 39-year-old man, Segun Oni for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl Oni.
The command’s Spokesperson, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, in a statement in Ilorin on Wednesday said the case was reported at the Igbaja Divisional Office of the command June 14, 2021 around 1830hrs by the victim’s grand-father.
He said that it was the victim’s grand-father that caught the suspect in the act of having canal knowledge with his 12 -year-old grand-daughter under a mango tree.
He added that, after thorough investigation, it was discovered that the victim was suffering from congenital mental deficiency which impaired her communication and social skills. Literarily, she hardly talks to people.
“In addition, a medical report obtained from from an hospital in ijagbo, shows penetration and bruises in the victim’s private area.
“The suspect confessed that on several occasions he lured the young girl with gifts to isolated arears to take advantage of her.
The spokesperson said that the suspect would be charged to court after discreet investigation has been completed.
