Insecurity: Niger govt.bans all processions

Niger State Government has banned all forms of processions across the State.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane,in a statement signed by
Lawal Tanko,an Information Officer
attached to his office in Minna on Saturday said that banning of procession was with immediate effect.
He “The decision to ban all forms of processions is as a result of security situation in the State.”

He directed security agencies to ensure “enforcement and deal with any person, group, organisation or individuals that violate this order.”

Matane advised members of the general public, across the State, to adhere strictly to this directive by being law abiding and live peacefully with one another.
