As many Nigerians and their counter parts in other parts of the world mourn the sudden death of Prophet Temitope Joshua, the Founder, Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN),the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Tuesday said the death of the Prophet was a reminder of life after death and salvation.
The Media Assistant to CAN President, Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, in Lagos, in a statement, urged people to occupy themselves with causes that could earn them eternal life.
Oladeji, while expressing condolences over the demise of the late televangelist; described his home calling as a reminder to all mortals that, “there is a time for everything”.
He further reminded Nigerians that, God created man for nothing other than to worship Him, adding that materialism and the quest for affluence seemed to preoccupy peoplesâ time other than things of salvation.
âA time to be born and a time to die. Thatâs what the Bible says.
âHe has played his own role on this side of the Jordan and he has relocated, we should, therefore, be conscious of the fact that death is unavoidable. You canât run away from it.
âWhen it is time, you go. The important thing is to sleep in the Lord. Those who live as Christians will reign with Christ and those who do otherwise have to spend their eternity in the Lake of Fire.
âOur hearts go to the family and the church he left behind. May God console and comfort them in this trying time,â he said.
Oladeji, who also condemned the spate of violence in the country, tasked citizens to place national interest above personal and ethnic interest for peace and development.
The Reporters recalls that the popular Nigerian pastor, otherwise known as TB Joshua, died early on June 6, as he warmed to mark his 58th birthday on June 12.
Family sources said after conducting his church programme, Joshua went to have a rest but never came back alive as he was met in an “uncomfortable” position when some members of his looked for him.
