FG inaugurates NYSC Digital Onboarder, Deel programme

The Federal Government has inaugurated the pilot NYSC Digital Onboarder and Deel Ambassador Community Development Service Group.

Mr Sunday Dare, Minister of Youth and Sports.

The Đirector of Press, Public Relations Department, Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, Mohammed Manga, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

According to him, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, while inaugurating the service group at the FCT NYSC orientation camp, Kubwa,FCT,  enjoined the youth in the country to embrace digital skills that would enable them grow their business career.

According to the minister, it would enhance and entrepreneurial capacity of the youth to achieve the objective of national aspirations and development.

While expressing his satisfaction at the huge turn out of Corps members for the pilot launch of the
programme, Dare urged them to realise the importance of digital technology in their quest for jobs and self-improvement to become self- reliant.

He stressed that, 2020-2030 represent the decade of youths, digital technology, Jobs, enterprise and inter-generational leadership.

He, however, noted that these were the core components of the  new ‘DEEL’ we have put together for the Nigerian Youths.

“And I am here today to invite you to take  the DEEL and become the beneficiaries and ambassadors of the amasing opportunities that ”DEEL” offers to the Nigerian Youths.

“It is time to mobilise our collective intelligence to achieve our individual aspirations and build the Nigeria of our dreams.

“The new ‘DEEL’ has many laudable projects and programmes with different levels of successes and as we pass the TORCH to you as beneficiaries and Ambassadors.

“I am confident that we will achieve accelerated impact. With its size, structure and spread, NYSC has proven on many occasions, including the massive result achieved with the MDGs its the most strategic platform for inclusive and accelerated national development.”

Dare noted that digitisation was an enabler to employability of the youth and enable them build successful businesses and career.

He opined that to create the seriously needed jobs and build successful careers and businesses, every sector of the nation must incorporate digital system into their programmes for better results.

“And for this to happen, it has become important, if not compulsory, for every smart Nigerian Youth to build the necessary Digital Skills through hands-on practical methodologies.

“What you must do, starting from your orientation camp, is to ensure that everyone of you acquires an added advantage in a minimum of 10 basic digital skills that you can deploy to your places of Primary assignments.

“Group or personal CDS and to build your businesses through DEEL.”

In his remarks, the Director-General, NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, commended  President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for its dogged determination to empowering the Nigerian youths, digitally with a view to ensuring  socio-economic development of the nation.

Ibrahim, however, urged the corp members to key-in to the opportunities being provided by the Federal Government to develop more digital skills that would equip them for future endeavours.
