NECO Ag. Registrar emerges

Mr Agborodi,Ag.Registrar/Chief Executive, NECO.

The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved the appointment of Mr. Ebikibina John Ogborodi as the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the Examination Council

Mr. Azeez Sani, Head of Information and Public Relations Division, NECO, who disclosed this in a statement in Minna,said the appointment of Agborodi followed the death of the immediate past Registrar of the organization, Professor Godswill Obioma, after a brief illness.

Sani further revealed that until his acting appointment, Ogborodi was the Director of Special Duties in the Council.

Azeez said, “A Circular issued by the Director, Human Resource Management, Mr. Mustapha K. Abdul, explained that the Acting Registrar’s appointment was endorsed by the Governing Board at its emergency meeting held on the 2nd of June, 2021”.

The Circular further explained that, “Ogborodi’s appointment was as a result of his currently being the most Senior Director in NECO. The Circular stated that all activities of the Council are to continue unabated as earlier planned”.

The Reporters gathered that the acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the council is from Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

He obtained his first Degree from University of Jos in 1986 and a Masters Degree in Learning Disability from the same university in 1999 the same year he joined the services of the council and had served in different capacities.

He was former Acting Director, Examination Development Department; Acting Director, Office of the Registrar; Director, General Services and Director, Human Resource Management among others.
