The people of Oganenigu Community, which has one of the deciding wards, politically in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State have embarked on repair of roads as part of their self-help projects to bring about the much desired social and economic development to the area.

The spokesman of the community on the projects,Hon. Yakubu Ocholi, disclosed this in Oganenigu in a statement he sent to The Reporters on Saturday.

He said:’ Our people are predominantly farmers and we are blessed with cash crops and economic trees. Our farmers are unable to transport their farm produce to major markets for sale.

“Since the creation of Kogi State, all efforts to draw government’s attention failed, hence, we have resolved to self- help projects.

“The Good people of Oganenigu Community came together to contribute and are still contributing toward this road project.

” A ring road of 42-Km with over 30 villages has been neglected over the years. We can’t wait for government any more. We are doing our best,”he said.
